Network Access Schedule
Aruba Instant On allows you to enable or disable a network for users at a particular time of the day. You can now create a time range schedule specific to the employee or guest network, during which access to the Internet or network is restricted. This feature is particularly useful if you want the Wi-Fi network to be available to users only during a specific time, for example, only when your business is open.
To create a network access schedule for an employee or guest network, follow these steps:
- Tap
) tile on the Instant On home page and select an employee or guest network from the list.
( - Under , tap . The page is displayed.
- Slide the toggle switch beside
) to the right to enable the network schedule. The setting is set to enabled (
).
Setting the Ruled by a schedule toggle switch to enabled (
) for the first time displays the default schedule. The default schedule is active between Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and inactive all day on weekends.
( - Choose one of the following options:
Fixed—Indicates the schedule configuration for only recurring durations (day/hour on a weekly basis) equally to those of the employee or guest network schedule.
Select one of the following options under
:: The network is active throughout the day.
: The network is only active between the designated and . Network access can be configured to end on the same day or the next day. When a time prior to the Start Time is selected as the End Time, a Next Day alert is displayed indicating that the end time is configured on the next day. This enables you to configure scheduled networks for your business when the active hours extend to the early hours of the next day.
Variable—Indicates the schedule configuration that allows users to set up a different time range on a daily basis.
Follow these steps to enable the network schedule for specific days of the week:
Tap the (
) icon for the day of the week for which you need to configure a schedule.
Set the toggle switch to Active (
).
Select one of the following options under
:: The network is active throughout the day.
: The network is only active between the designated and . Network access can be configured to end on the same day or the next day. When a time prior to the Start Time is selected as the End Time, a Next Day alert is displayed indicating that the end time is configured on the next day. This enables you to configure scheduled networks for your business when the active hours extend to the early hours of the next day.
- Tap the back arrow (
) to return to the page, or Guest Network Details page in case of a guest network. Tap .
