Automatic Spanning-Tree Bridge Priority Assignment

Automatic Spanning-Tree Bridge Priority Assignment

A new option called bridge priority is introduced for spanning tree devices. The priority will be automatically determined using the topology and the position of the devices related to each other.

Bulk Network Mapping

Bulk Network Mapping

Instant On now supports bulk mapping of a network VLAN to all the ports for wired devices, except for the auto-provisioned ports.

Client-based 802.1x and MAC authentication

Client-based 802.1x and MAC authentication

Instant On supports port-based and client-based authentication, in addition to MAC authentication for switch ports.

Configuring Two-Factor Authentication

Configuring Two-Factor Authentication

You can now set up a two-factor authentication process on the administrator account to include am additional layer of security while accessing the site.

DHCP IP Address Reservation

DHCP IP Address Reservation

In router mode deployments, the primary Wi-Fi router is capable of reserving the DHCP IP addresses for its clients and other Instant On devices connected to it.

Firmware Upgrade After Onboarding

In a scenario where the onboarding API is compatible, the device onboarding process can be completed prior to upgrading the firmware for the newly created site.

Locking the Administrator Account

Locking the Administrator Account

The Instant On site administrators can now lock the accounts managing the site, preventing other users from modifying account privileges such as transferring or revoking ownership of administrator accounts.

A new option is added to test the reachability of the Instant On device by executing ping tests and traceroute.

You can now custom map the untagged and tagged VLANs to Instant On device ports.

Port Mirroring

Port Mirroring

The advanced menu of the switch details page now includes the port mirroring function, which allows the switch to trace the packets exchanged between the source and destination, and mirrors the data and sends its to the destination port.

Support for 802.11k

Support for 802.11k

The 802.11k fast roaming feature is now enabled by default on all Instant On networks. All 802.11k compatible wireless clients will receive neighbor reports to help them by sending all the possible network connections available by signal strength.
